Rock the Mic
Offical Contest Rules:
- Rock the Mic is an amateur
talent competition open to ages 15 and up
- Sign ups start at 7:00 p.m. before the contest begins and no later than 7:45 p.m.
- Sign ups are on a first come first serve basis. There is a maximum of 10 contestants
per night
- All contestants must fill out and sign a Rock
the Mic contestant form before participating in the contest
- Contestants can perform individually or as a group of up to three people
- Each contestant is given between 3-5 minutes to perform
- Contestants must bring their own instruments except for a piano which will be provided by Busted Stuff
- Vocalists can bring their own track or ask Busted Stuff to provide
accompaniment if they are able to do so
- Any contestants using vulgar lyrics, cheating in any way, or acting in a manner deemed inappropiate
by the staff or the judges will be disqualified and asked to leave the stage area.
- Once you are declared a contest night winner, you then become eligible to perform in the finals
for a chance to win the grand prize
- Contestants who have won a preliminary round are not eligible to win other rounds until the
finals. Preference for spots will be given to new contestants
- Judging Format: There will be three judges
- Busted Stuff, the audience & a secret judge. Each judge has 1/3 of the vote.
The person with the majority of the judges' votes wins the competition
- Each member of the audience will only be given one ballot. Audience ballots must be filled
out completely and with all contestants scored to be counted. Incomplete ballots will be disqualified from the final
count
- Judging will be done silently during and/or immediately following each performance. The
ballots will be tallied and the final results will be revealed at the end of the night
- All decisions by our judges are final and indisputable
